CHANDIGARH: City residents could expect some respite from the scorching heat in the coming days with the meteorological department forecasting a dip in the temperatures and optimistic about pre-monsoon showers hitting the city from Monday.
"Monsoons advanced in Chandigarh in 2013 on June 15, two weeks earlier. The trend may change this time as they are likely to hit the city in the last week of June," said Surender Paul, director, meteorological department, Chandigarh.
They could arrive by June 29, said Met department officials. Except Sunday likely to be hot and humid, scattered rainfall could cool parts of Tricity in the coming days.
